The Story

From Service Calls to Custom Builds

Mike Powell, owner of Powell Pool Co

Mike Powell started on the service and repair side of the pool business — learning water chemistry, equipment, troubleshooting, and the systems that keep a pool running long after the construction crew has gone home. That foundation is still how he looks at every project today: not just how a pool reads on paper, but how the whole system holds up for years afterward.

He moved into remodels in 2019 and took on full new builds in 2022, bringing all of that hands-on trade experience into Powell Pool Co — a family-owned crew based in Gilbert, serving the whole East Valley and beyond for the right job. Every job is still managed personally by Mike, start to finish — not handed off between a salesperson, a designer, and a project manager you've never met.

How We Work

Owner-Led, Start to Finish

Powell Pool Co isn't structured like a large-volume builder where you start with a salesperson and get handed off to a designer, then a project manager, then a superintendent you've never met. Mike stays personally involved from the first conversation through the final walkthrough.

Direct Communication

You work directly with the owner throughout your project — not a rotating cast of reps.

Hands-On Oversight

Mike coordinates the trades and keeps an eye on construction from the first dig to the final fill.

Custom Design

Every project is designed around your property and how your family actually uses a backyard — not pulled from a standard package.

Whole‑Yard Thinking

Pool, spa, landscaping, turf, and lighting are planned together, not bolted on one at a time.
